Basecamp is a web-based project collaboration tool developped by 37signals, the company who created the famous framework Ruby on Rails. They have created other successfull collaborative online tools I might blog in the future (Highrise CRM, BackPack ideas organizer, Campfire chat).

I've been using Basecamp since early 2006 and I love this software. It is just so easy to use, focused on project collaboration basics : sharing messages, files, tasks, deadlines. Another great advantage is that every person involved in the project stays tuned with the latest activities thanks to RSS and email alerts.

Litmus is an advanced testing tool for web professionals. It shows you how your designs look on every platform, across every popular web browser (And the not-so-popular ones.). It works also for emails ! Once you've finished testing, one click publishes a full compatibility report with screenshots, ready for review by your client or boss.

Unless I don't feel this tool is 100% trustable, it is a very convenient way to get a quick overall view of your design compatibility. Don't forget to make your design compliant with w3c standards and to undertake real user testing !
